How to use CloneCut to make a clone video
Making a first clone takes about two minutes. This guide covers choosing the reference video, preparing the photo, and fixing the common problems.
How it works
- 1
Pick a reference video
Choose one of our trending formats: product reveals, unboxings, talk-to-camera, street walks, pet scenes and more. There is nothing to upload and no prompt to write.
- 2
Add one photo
Upload a clear photo of your product, yourself or your pet. A sharp photo with even light and a plain background gives the cleanest result.
- 3
Generate, review and download
You see the credit cost before you start. When the video is ready you can preview it, download the MP4 and try another format.
Choose the right reference video
Filter by Products, People or Pets so the format matches your photo. A product format wants a product photo, a people format wants a face, a pet format wants a pet. Watching the preview tells you what will stay the same: the motion, the camera and the setting.
Prepare the photo
One subject per photo, sharp, evenly lit, nothing covering it. For products use a straight-on shot on a plain background with the label readable. For people use a front-facing photo from the shoulders up, without sunglasses or heavy filters.
Fix the usual problems
Face looks different: use a sharper, front-facing photo with even light. Product label is wrong: use a flat, straight-on product photo. Result drifts: try another format with a calmer camera, or the HD resolution.
Frequently asked questions
What file types can I upload?
JPG, PNG or WebP for your photo. You do not upload a video.
Can I upload my own source video?
No. You choose from our reference videos. This keeps results predictable and prevents face swaps into other people’s footage.
Do I need to write a prompt?
No. Each reference video already knows what it replaces: the product, the person or the pet.
Why was my generation refused?
The provider checks inputs. Photos that break content rules are rejected. Try a different photo, and make sure every person shown has agreed to be used.
Is it okay to put a real person in a clone?
Only with their agreement. Use photos of yourself, or of people who have clearly said yes. Do not use the tool to imitate someone who has not agreed, to swap faces of public figures, or to make sexual or misleading content. We may refuse or remove results that break these rules.
Only upload people who agreed, and only remix videos you have the right to use.
